The girl who is surrounded by beauty in the fashion industry during the day wanted something calm and fun to come home to at night. A love of textiles, New order, high and low, new and old  made this project such a blast to complete. Vintage fabrics from my travels in Paris, custom upholstery, vintage pieces like an antique gold gilt convex mirror and a bedroom that pays homage to Billy Baldwin, featuring Quadrilles legendary linen print and two fantastic bedside tables from my friend and mentor Grant K. Gibson. In the kitchen I sparked a friendship with the use of my new favorite fabric line, Zak + Fox. We even got her started on a fantastic art collection featuring original works by Jennifer Ament, Jeremy Miranda and Brian W. At the back of her house was a large paddy field, where the farmers grew rice.  As I walked with my seven years old daughter along the edge of the padi field we came across a tree with hundreds of its brown seed pods scattered on the ground. Most of them have popped open and twisted under the hot sun. The contrast between the darker outer skin and the lighter inner skin with a waxy sheen caught my attention. The darker shades in-between also adds texture to the visual.
